I have been a Golden Age of Radio and Big Band sounds of the 1930s and 1940s enthusiast for decades. After a long career in radio and TV broadcasting, announcing, public relations and marketing, I decided to lay back and devout all of my broadcasting time to my commercial-free ode to vintage radio. The 'Make Believe Ballroom' had its origins on the radio starting in the mid 1930s and stayed a daily program on WNEW 1130 AM in New York until the late 1980s. My parents always had the dial set to 1130 so at an early age I gained an appreciation for the music I would love the most up until this day. More on Jeff |

I am very thrilled to present 'My Pick Of The Forties' on The UK 1940's Radio Station. I'm an avid collector of 78 rpm records and have built up a large collection of 1930's and 1940's dance band music over the years which I am very pleased to be able to share with the station's listeners. Shaun spends a happy hour playing music from the 1930s but might also throw the odd song in from the late 1920s. His main love is the dance bands from the period but often he will feature bands from the present day who authentically recreate the music. More on Shaun |

Someone once said, "There are only two kinds of music...good music and bad music. If you like it, it's good. If you don't, it's bad." If true, then all the music of the forties is good, because I love it. It's the music I grew up with. Each one of my countdown programs concentrates on the top hits (and some of the interesting misses), from one month of that golden decade, hopefully bringing back some of the more pleasant memories from your past.
