James presents his show 'This thing Called Swing' on the station.
James trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama
and later as a musician at the Guildhall School in London. He led the internationally
renowned Pasadena Roof Orchestra from 1996 to 2002. He created the Solid Senders Orchestra
to play the music of the Swing Era and later the New York All-Star Big Band with whom he
continues to perform. He is also a busy voice-over artist who has recorded more than 100
audiobooks, winning a prestigious Audie award in 2013 for his work on Astray by Emma Donahue.
James was born in York, England, and is now based in New York City.
