Dear Shaun,

I just wanted to express my thanks for coming along and giving us your time and expertise this weekend.

‘The Home Guard Returns’ went down really well with our visitors and I had several appreciative comments from them, old and young. Plus we got some good TV coverage, which can’t be bad.

I think it is a really important and interesting part of our history, not least because it sits so oddly with peoples’ perceptions of what the house is about, so a massive thank you for bringing that to life for everyone. I know you had a really traumatic journey here and so even more respect to you that you bothered to come at all! I am so glad you did though as you really pulled the whole thing together, making it go with much more of a swing (no pun intended!)
